Darkroom & Prints
In December of 2017 Arman built a darkroom in Point Richmond with the assistance of friends and family. His ambitions were to print larger than the local Bay Area film laboratories would allow. Designing and building the 18-25 gallon developer, fix and water bath trays, as well as having a custom steal enlarger mount extender manufactured, he was able to succeed in printing 3.5 x 5.5tf silver gelatin fiber based prints. Self taught this was his first experience in a darkroom. He over came a steep learning curve, working with a 98ft roll of paper and understanding the chemistry were among many of the challenges he faced over the next six months printing a series of eleven images that focused on the wealth disparity and gentrification fo the Bay Area in 2016-2018.
